Limone is an Italian village in the province of Brescia located on Garda lake; it counts less than a thousand inhabitants and until 1932 it was reachable only through the mountains or the lake. Its economy was based on fishing, olive and lemon cultivations. A few years after the second world war, it has become one of the favorite tourist destinations.
Limone is an old village that has already all the characteristics of a typical village of fishermen, with old houses around a wonderful small port. The village takes its name from its lemon-houses that are cultivated on terraces over the village and that perfume the air together with jasmines, honeysuckles and pitosforo.
Today you can visit three famous lemon-houses: the one of Via Borghi, the one of Tesol and the famous lemon-house Del Castel.
Limone offers to its tourists the possibility to relax and to live the lake or simply to walk through the small streets full of restaurants, pizzeria, cafés and shops. The air has the taste of ancient times, with colored quarters that makes Limone an enchanted place.
All those who loves walking or simply cycling can now use the new pedestrian path along the Garda lake.
