The Hotel Petrus in Bruneck, at the foot of the Kronplatz, is the perfect hotel for those who like a personal touch. The three sisters Christina, Brigitte and Daniela run the hotel together with their parents and attach great importance to good food, a relaxed atmosphere and handmade products.
A culinary journey through South Tyrol begins in the two in-house restaurants, one of which has received an award in the Falstaff Restaurant Guide. Most of the fruit and vegetables come from the hotel's own garden, which the parents of the three sisters, Gerti and Hans, tend and nurture with passion.
To ensure that everyone stays seated at the table for dinner and breakfast and enjoys good food and conversation, there is no buffet at Hotel Petrus - all dishes are served. - This includes breakfast. The quality of the products is paramount: much of the food is home-made, the kitchen team with head chef Hannes Baumgartner focuses on natural, regional cuisine with organic products and local producers. In summer, many products are grown in the hotel's own garden.
Once a week, the chef invites guests to a tasting menu. Brigitte Aichner, a qualified sommelier, recommends the right South Tyrolean wines and explains the special features of the 120 varieties in the hotel's wine cellar. This also includes the optimal drinking temperature of the wines, which is always guaranteed thanks to the wine cellar between the dining room and bar.
Local natural products are also used in the spa area: a relaxation room is lined with Swiss stone pine, tired feet are massaged with cherry stones on the foot reflexology bench, real mountain meadow hay smells in the hay barn and guests can feel the effect of local sheep's wool in the lana room.
In the 25-metre-long indoor and outdoor pool, you can swim towards the mountains in pleasant temperatures in summer and winter.
Each of the rooms at Hotel Petrus is individually furnished and the suites boast special highlights such as an outdoor bathtub or outdoor sleeping facilities. Some of the rooms are equipped with suspended loungers or whirlpool bathtubs, while others offer views of the Kronplatz and the large hotel garden, which blends seamlessly into the surrounding meadows.
