Hofern - small but unique

On an altitude of 1,120 m, at the foot of the Puster Valley Highlands and surrounded by lush green meadows, the peaceful village offers numerous excursion possibilities. Hikers can enjoy themselves in winter as in summer on the trails to the Moarhofalm or also to the summits like Putzenhöhe and Bärentaler Spitze. Not far from Hofern you can find the bathing Lake Issing, with the high ropes course. This is the perfect place for young and old: while the parents can relax in the sun, the kids can play in the exciting high ropes course and then jump directly in the cool water. The widely scattered and mainly traditional farms and the parish church, built in the Romanesque style, give the village a special charm.
