The 4-star Superior Naturhotel Rainer is located in the Jaufen Valley (Ratschings municipality) in South Tyrol – just 7 km from the idyllic town of Sterzing and right behind the Brenner Pass. The family hotel with 34 rooms is surrounded by 40 million m² of unspoilt nature: forests, Alpine meadows and majestic peaks. Member of Alpine Pearls and Vitalpina Hotels.

The new Naturea Spa & Beauty wellness area (expanded from July 2024) includes: experience indoor pool (30°C, chlorine-free water with counter-current and waterfall), 3 saunas (forest sauna, herb sauna, infrared cabin), steam bath, onsen relaxation pool (adults-only, outdoor with mountain panorama and sun terrace), hot whirlpool (35°C), Kneipp pools, experience showers and relaxation room with water beds. Exclusively natural cosmetics without chemicals.

Head chef Hannes Rainer (trained in part under Michelin-starred chef Christian Jürgens in Bavaria) cooks with products from the hotel's own farm and local farmers: vegetables from the kitchen garden, meat from their own animals, herbs from the hotel garden. Dishes are served on home-turned clay plates. Sundays feature a 6-course natural gourmet menu, daily a 5-course choice menu. Allergy menus (gluten-free, lactose-free) are available.

Sustainability is consistently practised at Naturhotel Rainer: own photovoltaic and biomass plants, combined heat and power plant with exhaust heat exchanger, cooling systems with heat recovery, no plastic at breakfast, no plastic bottles, waste separation, minimal packaging purchases and almost exclusively regional and seasonal products. Guests arriving without a car receive special discounts including station transfer and free e-car hire.

Yes, almost all rooms and suites at Hotel Rainer feature a private, furnished balcony or terrace. Between the Stubaier and the Sartnaler Alps

Even though the village Ratschings has only a small number of inhabitants; the municipal area of Ratschings belongs to the six biggest of South Tyrol. For this reason the three valleys about Ratschings are called to be quiet and in harmony with nature. Thanks to its gorgeous natural landscapes and enormous area many skiers, cross-country-skiers and snowboarder come to Ratschings for vacation in this untouched nature. The ski arena Ratschings-Jaufen is one of the most modern in South Tyrol with 8 high-capacity ascension facilities, 25 km of ski-slopes and a toboggan run assure to have fun in the snow. In the summer there are countless of walking-paths who bring vacationer to blooming meadows, dense and calm woods, rustically mountain cabins and to large glacier.
