The 4-star Mountain Chalet Stern in the Wipptal Valley, nestled in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, is located directly on the slopes of the Rosskopf, Sterzing's local mountain. With its 8 exclusive mountain suites, it offers a luxurious retreat with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Each suite is meticulously designed down to the smallest detail and offers fully equipped kitchens as well as terraces and balconies for unparalleled panoramic views. Some suites feature private spa areas with spacious Swiss stone pine or organic herbal saunas, cozy relaxation lounges with heated waterbeds, and atmospheric fireplaces or whirlpools for romantic moments for two. Chalet Stern is accessible ONLY by gondola: the NEW Rosskopf gondola transports guests to Rosskopf (approx. 2,000 m) in a short time. From the valley station the gondola is reachable by car from Sterzing. The arrival is an experience in itself: views over Wipptal and Sterzing below. A short walk from the Rosskopf summit brings you to the chalet.

Vipiteno

The town of Vipiteno is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It is located in Valle Isarco, in the mountains of South Tyrol. Vipiteno is the most northern town of Italy and has a timeless charm. Immersed in a beautiful natural setting, enjoy the great emotions while visiting. In the old town you can already see the signs of the intense mining activity of the past and also all the colors that were typical for the Middle Ages, which invite you to walk through the historical centre of the town.

The symbol of the town is the tower “la Torre delle Dodici” with a high of 46 m; it divides the new town from the old one.

Vipiteno is 950 m above sea level and is dominated by Monte Cavallo (2.176m) on the west, Cima Gallina on the northeast and Cima di Stilves (2.422 m) on the south. On the slopes of Monte Cavallo you’ll find the cable cars only a few minutes away of the centre. Nearby the skiing area you can also find one of the longest sledding run of South Tyrol, which is 10 km long.

Near the town of Vipiteno you can reach other cable cars in less than half an hour: Vipiteno is a ideal place where you can spend vacancies of relaxation, walking or cycling around the wonderful mountains.

It is also known for its local products and for the local agriculture: the Vipiteno yogurt "Sterzinger Jogurt" is very well known.
