South Tirol is one of the oldest and also smallest wine-growing areas of Europe, however it’s convincing by his uniqueness and variety, criteria which unique wines must have. The geographic position and favourable climatic conditions affect especially well on the South Tyrolean top wines. 5,300 hectares wine-growing area, with about 20 grape varieties are produced to red wines and white wines of best quality. The most important and most typical South Tyrolean wines are Lagrein, Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer; but also the Riesling, Sankt Magdalener, Sylvaner and Pinot Grigio belong to the noblest drops. Not only the gourmet's kitchen of South Tirol entices and enchants gourmet, also the awarded top wines provide great pleasures.
