In comparison to other parts of the region the valley Zillertal is rising only a little, therefore the arrival is unproblematic also during the winter months. The valley divides the Tux Alps in the west from the Kitzbühel Alps in the east and it is about 40 km away from the cultural capital city Innsbruck. Zillertal is considered as birthplace of alpine mountaineering.
In Zell you will find all you may desire – in winter as well as in summer. The wonderful skiing area with fantastic slopes and indescribable views to Tyrol’s mountains comprises 166 km of ski runs. Thanks to modern mountain railways and lifts you can easily reach these amazing mountains. Panoramic hiking trails provide variety and lead to hidden and special places – for instance many alpine huts, meadows, mountains and waterfalls.
If one day the sun doesn’t shine, you can visit for example the regional museum, where you gain insight in history and culture. Of course there is also a large range of leisure time facilities including tennis courts, restaurants and bowling centers.
