Hotel Granbaita Dolomites *****
Selva / Val Gardena
This plateau has drawn tourists from all around the world for centuries, thanks to the breathtaking views it offers, the gentle climate and the places of tourist's interest like Soprabolzano, Maria Assunta, Renon, Collalbo, Auna di Sotto and Vanga.
Already in the 17th Century, merchants and wealthy Bolzano families had begun to build their summer residences on this hill, so picturesque and charming.
Below 1000 meters, the landscape, dominated by fruit and vineyards above this threshold, slowly begins to take on distinctively alpine characteristics.
The mountain behind Bolzano is a lovely and different area of beauty care, rest and relax.
For lovers of walking and hiking in spring, summer and autumn there are more than 300 km of well marked trails, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Dolomites, declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
And with winter the places fills up with skiers, snowboarders, enthusiasts of the toboggan and ice skating.
Discover the tracks carefully prepared in the Horn of Renon, perfect for families, thanks to the carefully groomed slopes!
Or, do not miss the chance to skate around and over Lake Wolfsgruben, on winter ice!
It is not easy to say no to a snow-shoes nice walk on the snowy trail ...
The proximity to Bolzano, the capital of South Tyrol, where north and south come together in a harmonious blend of culture, makes possible a wondeerful visit, whether for a shopping trip or for a walk to learn a bit of its cultural background. The walks through the colorful stands of the market in Piazza delle Erbe in Bolzano, or under the arcades, the narrow streets from the late Gothic style, combined with a walk in the gardens of the River Talvera make every shopping trip to experience the lively historical background.
And finally we recommended a cappuccino break in the toen square!
Even the palate will be satisfied. In Bottai Street / Bindergasse the restaurants follow one another, and dishes ranging from traditional cuisine with characteristic dumplings, to light Mediterranean cuisine.
In fall, when the leaves turn into yellow, the days get shorter and the nights get longer, the comfortable, rustic Törggelestuben (a term that indicates a traditional South Tyrolean dinner, during which rustic dishes are accompanied by grilled chestnuts and new wine) invite to a pleasant night out with friends.
Not to miss: the pyramids of earth, the museum of bees, the Rittner cable car, Castel Trauttmansdorff, the Messner Mountain Museum Firmian.
