Appiano is one of the largest wine-growing districts in South Tyrol. The area around the village is characterized by southern flair, as well as by a beautiful landscape full of vineyards.

But the Mediterranean scenery is marked not only by apple trees and vine, but there are also numerous worth seeing castles and palaces on the hills . With more than hundred palaces, castles and historic residences Appiano ranks among the most important historical regions throughout Europe. Not just castles, but also many cellars determine the area around Appiano, where several premium wines can be tasted. The landscape here is very various: there are rolling hills and larger differences in height, dense forests and lush fruit orchards and vineyards – a little paradise for every nature lover. But also bike fans will surely be satisfied, because around Appiano and along the famous wine route, there they will find many bike paths and interesting trails. If one day the weather shouldn’t be so god: Visit the provincial capital of Bolzano, which is only a few kilometers away from Appiano.
