The little village of Deutschnofen in South Tyrol is extended over an area of 112 square kilometers in 1,300 m over the sea level.

Situated on a high plateau with an impressive panoramic view on the surrounded mountain range Schlern, Rosengarten and Latemar, it is a centre of attraction for every alpinist. Deutschnofen is an optimal starting point for numerous hiking tours to the Dolomites, to calm forests, recreational walks and for climbing tours. In the winter different ascension facilities and ski lifts bring skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers directly to the ski area Latemar/Obereggen with over 50 km of ski trails and lots of powder snow for fantastic ski runs. When it starts to become warmer trips by foot, bicycles and horses are in order of the day. For those who are more interested in climbing on sheer rock walls, the climbing zone around the Rosengarten offers different levels of difficulty for hanging from the wall for pros and beginners. Furthermore can other sporting activities, like tennis, soccer or running, be executed in the new sport zone in Deutschnofen.
Absolutely should be visited the little church of Saint Helena and the religious works of art in the tower of castle Thurn.
