The Alta Badia area is situated in the northernmost part of the homonym valley, which, with its location in the heart of the Dolomites, is one of the most beautiful valleys in South Tyrol. Flanked to the right and left by its wooded falls and verdant hills sides, Val Badia is characterized by numerous farms, that, as if by magic, are all located to the foot side of the valley. Seeing them, the viewer feels the value and variety of the valley's culture and its inhabitants, whose native language is Ladino.
San Cassiano clings to the imposing limestone walls of Conturines and Piz Lavarella, and for its tradition of hospitality and fine dining is a great target for the gourmets. The small town is crossed by a small, charming shopping street, which represents a perfect opportunity for a relaxing shopping trip, to be finished with a hot cappuccino in one of the many bars ... Starting from spring, Alta Badia is transformed into an El Dorado for climbers and hikers. From the easy paths to the more demanding routes, a whole range of possibilities is available to meet everyone's needs. In the nearby of San Cassiano, you can pick up the challenge offered by the peaks of Conturines, Piz Lavarella of Settsass and Lagazuoi! Even mountain bikers will enjoy its many trails in this natural valley! During winter, Alta Badia offers ideal conditions for snow activities.
